Yay for 20% Off!

Congratulations Andrea and Stephanie! You both have a 20% off discount that you can use by the end of 2010 on any total purchase from the shop! If you see something posted on the blog that you don't see in the shop, just let me know what it is that you're interested in and I'll let you know if I still have it. When you make your purchase via Etsy, type in MUSIC in the Message To Seller and then you'll be refunded the proper amount once I receive the order. Yay for y'all and yay for new music!

Speaking of the shop, I have slowly but surely been working this week to get more items posted to it so be sure that you're still checking it out. I'm also excited to let you know about a new craft fair that I'll be doing on October 9th called Cornucopia. More details about that to come later, but mark your calendars!!

Fall is definitely setting in here in the Windy City. Though there are a couple of days in the extended forecast that predict low 80's, I'm sure that will be the last of our warm weather. It's not all bad, though. I do love having the fresh, cool breeze blowing through the apartment and cuddling up with some apple cider and a movie on the couch. I would normally wait until the beginning of October to hang the scarecrow out on our front door, but I think he might be going up early this year ;)

I hope all of you are finding yourself enchanted with the change of season as I know I am. Wish me luck with the posting of more items, because it's a sure thing that I'd rather be outside on the playground with my little fella than inside on the computer. Until next time...

Contest

Okay guys, I'm going to extend the contest until the end of Friday, September 17th! I realized after only one person posted a response (thanks Andrea! Type in MUSIC whenever you make a purchase to get your 20% off!) that having a contest that only lasted the weekend was probably not enough time for everyone. So, on your mark, get set, GO! I will post Friday night who all gets the discount. And don't think that you can just type in MUSIC in a message to me when you purchase something and get the discount... I am sneakier than you... ;)

So, Sunday night means it's time to buckle down for the coming week. I used to dread falling asleep on Sunday nights while I was still in grade school because I knew the faster I went to sleep the faster I would actually have to go to school. Though this mindset was great on Christmas Eve, it was not so great the night before school. Thankfully, though, I don't have anything to dread come Monday morning now. Life is sweet, the weather is changing, I have wonderful friends and a great family, and every morning I get to see my sweet son smile at me. The best!

I have been posting new items on Etsy tonight. Argh, that is such a drag for me to do. Will you do it for me? The problem is that it takes me forever to do it, especially now that I'm trying to keep a paper trail for each item to keep me organized. After a couple of hours I only managed to get 4 items up and was working on a 5th item when the site decided to keep giving me an ERROR message. Fortunately, that was my legitimate excuse to stop. Unfortunately, this is something I've been needing to sit down and do for a long time and I was finally in that mode when I had to stop. I am making it my goal to post something, if not a few somethings, each night this week. Wish me luck!

Here's to going to sleep and facing Monday morning. If you're not quite ready, fix yourself a snack and relax to a movie before you call it a night!

Until next time...

"Music is my Boyfriend"

It's plain and simple. I. Love. Music. The title of this post comes from one of my favorite songs by CSS. You see, some people can focus with the TV on, others need complete silence. For me, if I'm going to get anything accomplished, I need music on. A few bands that I love to concentrate to would be M83, Pete Yorn, Beirut, The Postal Service, Nickel Creek, Bon Iver and many many more. Check them out! In the mean time, let me know who you love to listen to! If you introduce me to a new band, I'll let you have 20% off a future purchase. It's a win-win situation for all of us. I get new music to inspire me, and you get a fun new piece of jewelry to either keep for yourself or give as a gift. So, click on the "Comment" tab below and give me your favorite bands! I will post on Sunday Night who will be receiving the discount along with a discount code, so you'll have to check back. Oh, and I'm requiring that you be a follower for this little un-official contest so be sure you do that too to qualify. Until next time...

Organization is Key

Well, so far I'm not doing a very good job at keeping my resolution of writing more frequently. It's been five days since my last post! I have currently been working on cataloging all of my pieces which is something I should have been doing from the beginning. Though it's been a big undertaking, I just love the feeling of getting all organized. I am also hoping that with this new system set in place it will be easier for me to post items on my Etsy more frequently. I'm sad to say that I only have 8 items for sale in my shop when in reality I have more than I know what to do with. Wish me luck! Until next time...

Harvest

I think that the word "harvest" has to be one of the best words. It's one of those words that has a smell, a temperature, a feel and a taste that come to your senses automatically. Today was a day of harvest. For starters, it was only a few degrees warmer than 70, and the breeze was cool and crisp all day. The hubby was off so we worked out in our backyard most of the day.

We harvested some tomatoes

and used them to make a great pasta dinner for supper.

We also made a trip down to our local brewery, Half Acre, and got some new beer. After the kiddo went down for bed, we sat outside and enjoyed our new beverages, enjoyed our newly done backyard, and enjoyed the wonderful weather! All in all, a perfect early-harvest day!
